Dubai: Ever heard of tours for three to five year olds without the mamas and papas? Well, a new Dubai excursion company is offering just that, with a line-up of action-packed activities within the UAE.

Touring Tykes, which claims to be the Middle East’s first children’s adventure excursion company for three- to five-year-olds, will cover several offerings around town to help the little ones identify their interests, while allowing their parents to have some time of their own.

Likes and dislikes

Sophie Bogdis Gamble, mother of two kids and founder of Touring Tykes, told XPRESS, “I would constantly battle to entertain my children while I worked. There are so many things happening in Dubai but parents are not aware of them or do not have the time to explore them. Often, parents don’t know what their children like or dislike. So I came up with the idea of the Touring Tykes.”

But why only three to five year olds?

“Because children at this age are full of energy but do not know where to channel it. From age six, they become more focused on what they want, so it’s important to help them find their interests.”

From exploring a rainforest, gym and chocolate factory to meeting horses, cooking and drumming, there will be a wide range of activities for the kids during the tours.

Sophie said the Saturday tours will begin on September 9.

“Kids can sign up for a 12-week term either in the 9am to noon or 1 to 4pm batch. Many parents are happy to leave their children with us, but some may want to join in and we will not stop them.”

Sophie said the safety of the kids is priority. “We have a licensed school bus provider taking the kids to the various activities with a trained nanny, coordinator and nurse on board.

All children will be picked up from the Al Barsha Pond Park at a designated time.

Sophie said the registrations have begun. Advance bookings for the 12-week term cost Dh2,750, inclusive of entry and transport fees, T shirts, water bottles and snacks. Weekly costs are Dh300 per tour.
