ABU DHABI The third edition of the Abu Dhabi Electronic Shopper 2015 (ADEShopper) promises to turn even the most technophobic residents into gadget freaks.
It is raining discount offers, bundle deals, product launches and raffle draws at the largest consumer electronics exhibition in the capital that started on Wednesday at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).
“This is the time of the year when I get tempted to buy a new mobile phone,” said Wael Abdulaziz, 43, a Jordanian expat in Abu Dhabi.
“The offers are quite irresistible and you can even win raffle prizes,” said Abdulaziz, a construction manager.
Sunil Nair, 37, from India said, “This is one event that will dig a hole in my pocket. I usually go there to check out new products but end up spending a few thousands.”
Spanning 10,000 square metres, ADES 2015 showcases products and services in information technology, consumer electronics, mobile technology, lifestyle and leisure, gaming, home and office automation appliances, sports and medical equipment, security and control systems. More than 30 exhibitors are participating in the event that is expected to draw over 70,000 visitors in four days.
Antoine Georges, Managing Director, DOME Exhibitions, said: “ADES 2015 is now established as a definite consumer event to discover new innovations in consumer electronics. We have closely worked with participating outlets and consumer brands to make sure the visitor feels a real difference in the prices of gadgets that they purchase through the promotion shows.”
Compelling offers
Participating retailers like Sharaf DG, Plug-Ins, Jacky Retail, Grand Stores, Techlink, and Jurassic, among others are offering exclusive promotional deals on a range of products.
Manish Arora, business head for Jacky’s Retail LLC told XPRESS they have lined up some compelling offers.
“The talk of the town is definitely the Galaxy S6/S6 Edge. We will be unveiling the device and shoppers can pre-book them with a free wireless pad,” said Arora.
“Other key offers include a special price of Dh6,499 for the Samsung 55 inch curved UHD TV, originally priced at Dh10,999. We also have the Dh34,999 Samsung curved 78 inch UHD TV going for Dh24,499.”
Other attractions include fashion shows and photography competitions.
There are also lots of prizes and deals to be won including a ‘Visit and Win’ raffle draws where visitors stand a chance to not just a host of electronic gadgets but also return Etihad Airways tickets and even the latest edition of the Ford Mustang.
