Dubai: A women-driven limousine service, dubbed “Amira” (Princess), will soon be available in Dubai.

The Roads and Transport Authority’s Dubai Taxi Corporation (DTC) and Careem — the online car booking provider — have signed an agreement that will allow people to book Dubai Taxi-operated Ladies Limousine services for the first time via Careem App.

The agreement also provides for DTC to run ladies-dedicated service on deluxe limo driven by highly experienced female chauffeurs.

Dr Yousuf Al Ali, CEO of DTC, and Mudassir Shaikha, founder and managing director of Careem, signed the agreement.

“Launching the new exclusive Ladies Limo service is a further evidence that DTC is committed to delivering best-in-class services to customers, and enriching the 5-star experience to unprecedented levels. The service will be appealing to VIP ladies in quest for privacy and comfort aboard deluxe transit means,” Al Ali said.

Abdullah Ebrahim Al Meer, director of Business Development at DTC, said, “Launching Amira service through Careem is a game changer for customers’ service experience. The agreement epitomises the directives of our leadership to transform Dubai into the smartest city in the world, and uplifts the calibre of services to live up to the Happy Dubai concept,” he said.
