Dubai: Emirates has released a video offering a glimpse into the process of making the world’s largest passenger aircraft, the Airbus A380.

It takes 800 workers up to 80 days to assemble, install, test, paint, furnish and deliver an Emirates Airbus A380.

“The A380 has been very successful for us, and this is reflected in the strong customer interest and high seat factors wherever we’ve deployed the aircraft,” said Emirates President Tim Clark in July.

“The A380 has helped us serve customer demand on trunk routes, operate more efficiently at slot-constrained airports, and also introduce new concepts on-board that have redefined the flying experience. Moving forward, we will see quite a ramp up in the delivery programme and by late 2017 we will have around 90 A380s in our fleet to support existing and new A380 routes.”

Emirates has publicly pushed Airbus in recent months to develop an updated, more fuel efficient version of the existing A380.

Emirates is the largest A380 operator with a fleet of 50 of the super jumbo aircraft and a total of 140 on order.
