Sharjah: Two people, including a child, were injured after a car crashed into a shop in Industrial area No 4 in Sharjah on Sunday morning, a Sharjah Police official said.
The officer said the accident occurred when the driver hit the accelerator instead of the brakes and the vehicle rammed the shop’s window.
The injured, an eight-year-old Syrian girl and a 26-year-old Pakistani man, were taken to hospital for treatment.
Police closed the road temporarilty to clear the debris and remove the vehicle.
Police said that the accident was caused when the motorist pressed the accelerator instead of the brakes while attempting to park in front of the shop. The driver has been taken into police custody for questioning.
