Bollywood’s young brigade Varun Dhawan and Yami Gautam on Monday encouraged college students to go out and cast their vote at the upcoming Delhi Elections.

Dhawan, 27, and Gautam, 26, who star together in crime drama Badlapur, visited Kamala Nehru College for Women in New Delhi to raise awareness about exercising voting rights.

“You all don’t realise [voting’s] importance right now, but trust me when you all are older and married and have beautiful children then you will realise how important it is. I am just trying to do my duty,” Dhawan told the students, who were ecstatic to have the actor in their college. Gautam added, “You are young girls. You are our future.”

The Delhi Legislative Assembly election will be held on February 7. The results will be announced on February 10.

Dhawan and Gautam then read out the election pledge to the young girls, who repeated after them.

“I have never done something like this. Let’s do it together. I am going to read out the pledge and you have to repeat after me,” said Dhawan, who is the son of Bollywood filmmaker David Dhawan.

The duo also visited Ramjas College.

Besides Dhawan and Gautam, Badlapur also stars Radhika Apte, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Vinay Pathak, Divya Dutta and Huma Qureshi.

The film, directed by Sriram Raghavan, will hit theatres on February 20.
