Al Ain: The UAE values its loyal sons, especially the armed forces who assume great responsibility of protecting their country and maintaining its national achievements.

His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, made these remarks as he met Thursday cadets of military schools on the occasion of Zayed Military school’s Unity Day.

Shaikh Mohammad hailed the historic and heroic role being performed by the UAE Armed Forces in Yemen and their high-performance and readiness, that was culminated by significant victories in Yemen as part of the Saudi-led Coalition.

Addressing the cadets, Shaikh Mohammad said: “I personally extend my appreciation and thanks to military members who played honourable roles that will go down to history and be a source of pride for you."

Speaking on the UAE’s approach to achieve further progress and development, Shaikh Mohammad said: “The UAE was blessed with a wise man, the late Shaikh Zayed Bin Sultan, who managed to lead the UAE’s federation wisely during a very critical period and, today, we have to take lessons from our history and to look where we were before and where we are now. Shaikh Zayed was a man with a clear vision and purpose to build the country and achieve its renaissance”.

Shaikh Mohammad spoke about the critical conditions going on in the region, saying that the region’s serious events and incidents have forced a lot of people to pay an exorbitant price in terms of human blood, displacement and destabilised their lives.

"This prompts us to be more aware and stand in solidarity to deal with all challenges," he said.

Shaikh Mohammad stressed the UAE’s full backing of Saudi Arabia in all its actions to deter challenges facing the region, noting that the Arab coalition’s strong stance against the external interventions in Yemen has laid the foundations of a new policy to deal with all threats.
