Dubai: UAE Exchange on Sunday unveiled its first ever “women-powered” branch, served and supervised by women employees, at the Dubai Airport Free Zone (DAFZA).

This is a first-of-its-kind initiative in the UAE by any exchange house and is also in line with the vision of the UAE Federal Government in bringing gender equality, said Promoth Manghat, CEO of UAE Exchange Group, who inaugurated the branch.

“We believe that this initiative will be a stepping stone in nurturing the career aspirations of women,” he said.

Elizabeth Koshy, 55, the first woman employee who joined the group in 1980 as a typist and currently works as a business development manager, was honoured to be the guest for the ribbon cutting ceremony.

Abdul Kareem Al Kayed, Country Head – UAE Exchange, said the branch will be operational like any other branch in the country and will provide customised financial solutions to all customers.
