Abu Dhabi: Syrian refugee Khaldoon Sinjab and his family have arrived in Abu Dhabi from Beirut on a medically equipped plane to receive treatment at Cleveland Clinic, Abu Dhabi.

The humanitarian gesture comes as per the orders of His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.

Quadriplegic Khaldoon, who is unable to move, took refuge in Lebanon in August 2012. He also suffers from respiratory problems following an accident 1994.

The UAE Embassy in Lebanon, through its Humanitarian and Development Attache Office, followed this humanitarian case and initiated contacts with all authorities concerned to facilitate the transportation of Khaldoon and his family via Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut to Abu Dhabi.

Musallam Obaid Al Mansouri, director of the Attache’s office, said that this gesture reflects the UAE’s continuous humanitarian activities aimed at reaching out to all needy and affected people to support them and ease their suffering.
