Dubai: Annika Sorenstam, the 'first lady' of world golf, on Thursday night unveiled the secret of her amazing success in two simple words: hard work.

"Nothing comes easy in life. Whatever success I have achieved on the golfing greens is the result of years of thousands and thousands of hours of hard work and sweat," the world number one player, currently running hot in the Dubai Ladies Masters, told young enthusiasts during a golfing clinic she held at the driving range of the Emirates Golf Club. "Work hard on getting the basics rights, that's the most important thing. Keeping fit is equally crucial and for that one must do weight training under the tutelage of experts," she said at the clinic which was restricted to the guests of the sponsors of the Dubai Ladies Masters.

Considered as the most consistent woman golfer on the international circuit ever, Sorenstam made the youngsters feel comfortable and demonstrated how to grip the club and how to swing it … covering all main areas of the game.
