Paris: Goal-line technology will make its debut in the French league next season.

The camera-based system, which can be used to determine if the ball has crossed the line, has already been adopted in the Premier League and is set to be introduced in both the Italian and German leagues.

It was also in use at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and helped award a goal to France forward Karim Benzema in a match against Honduras.

The French league said Thursday that the technology will be provided at top-flight matches only.
