Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty may sport a 20-carat diamond ring on her finger, but she claims that it’s the simple things in life that give her joy. Therefore, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that her idea of a perfect Valentine’s Day this year involves spending time with her husband Raj Kundra over a cosy meal.
“Raj and I are eternal romantics. We celebrate our love for each other every day. As cliched and silly as it sounds, we don’t need one special occasion like Valentine’s Day to celebrate love,” said Shetty in an interview with tabloid! on Monday while in Dubai to launch the Gehna boutique at the Gold & Diamond Park.
The Celebrity Big Brother winner, who found herself at the centre of a racism row during the reality show in 2007, married Kundra in 2009 and they have a son.
“Raj and I lead a simple life... My husband is my truest friend and that matters to me more than diamonds and gifts that I get showered upon,” said Shetty. However, the actress who is currently looking for a villa in Dubai, says now their priorities have changed.
“Romance is what you make of it. But now our son has become our top-most priority. We are even looking for a bigger place than our apartment in Burj Khalifa so that he has enough room for his needs. Plus, I love Dubai because it’s so close to Mumbai.”
Shetty plans to be back in the UAE on February 27 to explore business opportunities in the region.
