Sharjah: With Ramadan just around the corner, the Sharjah Media Corporation has launched a new Ramadan Programme Package, which will be aired on its three main channels, in celebration of the holy month.

Addressing Arab audience, the programme package will include a list of interactive, religious, and social TV shows and radio programmes with content that will cater to the spiritual and ethical values of the religious month. The programmes specially made for Ramadan will be broadcast by Sharjah TV, Sharjah Radio, and Sharjah Sports Channel.

“The new Ramadan package aims to convey our message to strengthen our national identity and promote Arabic language in support of the efforts towards cultural and intellectual development under the directives of the Ruler of Sharjah,” said Shaikh Sultan Bin Ahmad Al Qasimi, chariman of the Sharjah Media Corporation.

Sharjah TV will be airing a mix of programmes, aimed at delivering the essence of Islamic culture, such as Madfa Al Iftar, Khatawi Al Monshideen, Fatwa, and Alam wa Amal, a show that promotes voluntary and humanitarian activities.

Sharjah Radio will also carry a Ramadan package of 17 programmes that will include the UAE’s most renowned shows such as Al Khat Al Mubasher, which will be aired from 1.30pm to 3pm daily. Other religious programmes, competitions and open discussions with some of the UAE’s high-profile public figures will also be a part of the package.

“The upcoming Ramadan package reflects our vision and the true meaning of Islam by focusing on the spiritual and ethical values of the holy month,” said Mohammad Khalaf, Head of Sharjah Radio.

Along with religious shows and cultural dramas, Sharjah’s Sports Channel will be showing a range of innovative sport programmes which promote the principles of brotherhood and collaboration. Recalling the UAE’s history of sport through a range of rare photographs, the show Kanat Ayam will also be aired on the channel.
