Dubai

While the weekend is meant for families to go out and enjoy, parking issues cause mayhem. A few days ago, I was at a mall in Dubai’s Mirdif area. We took several rounds of the parking lot before we came across this vehicle that had taken up two parking spaces (as seen in photograph).

I agree that there is no paid parking on weekends, but that shouldn’t encourage us to be selfish as others have an equal right to enjoy their outings as well.

I wish to bring to the notice of the concerned authorities the hardships faced by people like me who do not find parking spaces on weekends, especially in malls. I suggest that there should be special parking inspectors in malls on weekends who would issue parking violation tickets to the owners of those vehicles that have been parked in two spaces, or parked in an otherwise illegal manner.

On the other hand, I request the residents to not move away from their civic sense and be more responsible.
