Abu Dhabi: President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan issued a federal decree on bonuses for national and reserve service recruits.

Under Federal Decree No.117 of 2014, national recruits — businesspersons and entrepreneurs — will receive a monthly bonus of Dh3,000.

The Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces may amend the value of these bonuses. As per Article 2, bonuses will be given to those called up for reserve service. If military personnel and employees who previously served in the UAE Armed Forces, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Interior, State Security, or any other military bodies, are called up for three months or less, they will receive a bonus for the period in which they have served. These bonuses will be provided to personnel of the rank of Brigadier or equivalent, who will receive Dh21,000, while those of the rank of Lieutenant Colonel and Major will receive Dh19,000, and those of the ranks of Lieutenant up to Captain will receive Dh17,000. Military personnel will receive Dh15,000.

If those called up serve for a period that’s longer than three months, they will receive a monthly salary based on the last consolidated salary that they received based on their military rank and, as for personnel who serve for more than three months, they will receive a monthly salary based on the last salary they received in accordance with their grade.

For recruits who served in the national service and are called up to serve in the reserve service for a period of less than three months, they will receive a bonus of Dh3,000.

If the period of service required ranges between three to nine months, recruits will receive a bonus of Dh8,000, while those who serve for more than nine months will receive a monthly bonus of Dh15,000.

As for Emirati civilians who are called up for reserve duty, they will be given a bonus of Dh3,000 if they serve for a period of less than three months. If the period of service ranges between three to nine months, such recruits will receive a bonus of Dh8,000, while those who serve for more than nine months will receive a monthly bonus of Dh15,000.

Emiratis who voluntarily join the reserve service will receive a bonus of Dh3,000 if they serve for a period of less than three months, while those who serve between three to nine months will receive a bonus of Dh8,000, and those who serve for more than nine months will receive a monthly bonus of Dh15,000.

The decree comes into effect from the date of its issuance and wll be published in the official gazette.
