Dubai An Indian expat is seeking “appropriate justification or compensation” after a Dubai-based airline allegedly failed to provide his two-and-a-half-year-old son a pre-booked meal on a flight from India.

Deepak Pandya, a Dubai-based chartered accountant, told XPRESS that he had opted for a fruit platter meal for his son while making an online booking for air tickets for August 24 for himself and three members of his family.

Compensation

He said he had lodged a complaint with the airline following which it responded, confirming that the fruit platter was pre-booked but not loaded on to the flight. “My question is what is the point in providing meal options and securing pre-bookings when they can’t be honoured?”

He said: “The airline should provide appropriate justification for the lapse or compensation for the amount of the meal. The issue is not about the money. It is a matter of principle. In the past too, I have had an issue with a pre-booked Asian vegetarian meal.”

An immediate response was not available from the airline.
