Dubai: The seventh edition of the International Scientific Conference of the Dubai Police Academy was opened in the presence of Maj Gen Pilot Shaikh Ahmad Bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of the National Service, on Tuesday.
The conference, titled “National Service, protection for the present and a guarantee for the future” will run on November 25-26 and is under the patronage of Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Executive Council.
In his opening speech, Maj Gen Al Nahyan emphasised the importance of the theme of the conference, and thanked Dubai Police Academy for choosing this topic of discussion, which will discuss the national service project from a strategic perspective and the challenges that could face them in this project.
The conference will tackle five different aspects to national service — the legal, the social, the strategic, the developmental and security aspects.
