Faded out

In Gulf News’ coverage of the new visa rules issued by the Indian government, can the relevant editor kindly explain as to why the upper portion of the Indian map was faded out (‘New visas simplify travel entry to India’, Gulf News, November 28)? Let me remind the editors that Jammu and Kashmir are very much a part of India. Please don’t use pictures of India’s map to suit your own requirements.

Bad move

In the report, the newspaper has distorted the map of India, by deleting the entire Jammu and Kashmir region. That’s very wrong.

No point

Gulf News has previously covered the Kashmir elections as part of their India pages. Then why hide that part of Kashmir in the map of India?

Thank you for the feedback. With reference to your complaints, the map shows areas as per international guidelines. Gulf News would never distort, delete or change the map of any country, as that would be unethical and against journalistic principles.
