Police have warned residents against harbouring or employing infiltrators and violators of the foreigners' entry and residency laws for any reason. This is for the safety of not only homeowners and their families, but also for that of the entire country.
Not all of those who are in the county illegally have ill-intent. However, infiltrators who are in the country and are not documented are difficult to trace if they are involved in crimes.
Those who have not been through the country's formal immigration procedures have also not been checked to ensure they meet health, skill and security requirements of the UAE.
As much as it is the responsibility of the authorities to enforce the law, homeowners must ensure people staying with them are in the country legally and have a valid residence visa.
It is only by the police and communities working together, that the safety of all the residents of the UAE can be ensured.
