Choreographer-filmmaker Farah Khan’s 2007 film Om Shanti Om is now being made into a musical in Japan.

Khan’s directorial clocked nine years since its release in the Hindi film industry on Wednesday.

“Maybe a good day to announce on nine years of Om Shanti Om that it’s being made into a huge musical in Japan,” Khan tweeted on Wednesday.

The filmmaker also thanked the cast and crew of the film, including actor Shah Rukh Khan.

“Thank you all for wishing us nine years of Om Shanti Om today! It’s beautiful to know this film is celebrated every day kahin na kahin [somewhere]. SRK thank you,” she added.

The 51-year-old also thanked composers Vishal Dadlani, Shekhar Ravjiani and lyricist Javed Akhtar for the film’s music “that is still playing today”.

The movie launched Deepika Padukone, who is one of the top actresses in the industry.
