Two weekly off days likely to be announced
The Pakistan government is expected to announce this week two weekly off days and closure of petrol pumps for one day in a week to reduce oil consumption, according to a newspaper report.
Islamabad: The Pakistan government is expected to announce this week two weekly off days and closure of petrol pumps for one day in a week to reduce oil consumption, according to a newspaper report.
The report in a leading English language daily said the measures were being taken against the backdrop of the highest ever current account and fiscal deficits.
The federal cabinet in a recent meeting decided to take the steps to curtail consumption in transport and power sectors.
According to the decision Saturday and Sunday will be off days while petroleum products will not be sold on Fridays.
