Mumbai: Amar Chitra Katha (ACK), India's widely popular comic series publication house, will release a new title on Mother Teresa on her 100th birth centenary tomorrow.

Known for its illustrated stories on epics and mythology, fables, folktales, classics and exceptional people for the under-15 age group, ACK is coming up with this new title after four years and will be launching a new title every two months from now on.

Savita Pai, Vice-President, Product Management, ACK Media, said: "Mother Teresa was chosen as our comeback title because of the universality of the figure and August 26 2010, being her sentinel year, was a perfect date to launch the book and take it to every kid and household for them to learn about a noble figure like Mother Teresa."

The new title is a 40-page story that has been created with the Missionaries of Charity.

"While creating an ACK, the primary concern is authenticity," said Reena Puri, Editor, ACK. "We have done intense research, not just from empirical recorded data sources and books but coupled with meetings and interviews with people who have known Mother closely, to form the basis of the script.

"We volunteered with the missionaries and also met Sister Gertrude, who was one of the first two Sisters to join Mother Teresa, for our research. Even the first synopsis and the script were sent to the Missionaries of Charity to check for authenticity."
