Dubai: Next time you’re on the beach and see a beach buggy, you’re probably looking at Dubai Police’s new patrol fleet.

The Tourist Police Department on Wednesday announced the launch of their first quad bike patrol unit, which will have the distinctive white and forest-green colour combination all around the buggy.

Lt Col Dr Mubarak Saeed Salem Bin Nawwas, director of Tourist Police Department, said the bikes were introduced to ensure a quick response to emergencies, as well as making the beaches more safe and secure for tourists.

The new police patrols will also take care of tourists’ belongings and help transport them from one area to another.

Lt Col Bin Nawwas explained that the beach patrols are equipped with a first-aid kit, two additional chairs next to the driver and a large box to transport the belongings of tourists.
