Dubai: Motorists can now book a date, time and place of their choice to get their vehicles tested for the annual registration process, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced.
The service will begin from today (June 1) as a trial for three months, and it will be continued based on the feedback received from the customers.
The appointments can be booked by calling RTA’s toll free number 8009090.
“We will assess the service for three months to identify the positives, and work on areas that need improvement in order to provide a better service to various community members,” said Ahmad Hashem Behroozian, Executive Director of RTA’s Licensing Agency.
He added that the motorists who would like to avail the service can also directly contact service centres listed on RTA’s website.
“Following its launch, the service will be running for three months. It would then be provided on permanent basis starting from mid-September this year to make room for improvements. The service is vital to vehicle owners as it enables them plan better and utilise their time in availing streamlined services in much shorter times,” said Behroozian.
He added that saving time of vehicle owners translates into a cost-saving exercise, as it will enable them to have their vehicles tested in a specific timeline without affecting other commitments and schedules.
“RTA is committed to adopt world-class standards in the technical testing of various vehicles, and has set these standards as prerequisites of passing the prescribed technical tests in order to ensure the highest security and safety for motorists and all road users,” he stated.
