Abu Dhabi: The UAE condemned the attack on a French church that led to the killing of a priest, describing it as a barbaric and despicable crime.
The UAE said that the targeting of a place of worship and those working in it, as well as the terrorising of innocent civilians, was a flagrant example that terrorism has no religion or principles, and that its only goal is to spread strife and fuel sentiments of hate.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation said that this shocking crime that took place in a religious site proves the wickedness of the perpetrators and those who support them, and emphasised that everyone must work with determination to thwart all forms of terrorism.
The statement expressed the UAE’s solidarity with France, as well as its support for any procedures it takes during such circumstances.
