Abu Dhabi: The Zayed Humanitarian Forum has announced the launch of the first mobile hospital for paediatric cardiology in Africa to provide sophisticated devices for open-heart surgeries and catheter operations.

The hospital will provide diagnostic, therapeutic, surgical and preventive services for needy children with congenital heart anomalies in the African continent, starting in Egypt, Sudan and Eritrea under the supervision of a group of voluntary senior doctors and surgeons.

A number of voluntary organisations from five Arab countries — the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt and Sudan — have contributed to the launch of the initiative which represents a great role model for humanitarian work and community partnership.
