Dubai: As gesture to celebrate Eid, Dubai police provided Eid clothes for 56 children who escorting their mothers inside female prison in Al Aweer, police said on Monday.

Lieutenant colonel Saeed Rashid Al Heli, deputy director of Woman and child protection department in Dubai police, said they wanted children to celebrate Eid by providing clothes to them.

“We celebrated Eid with 56 children inside the female prison. We distribute clothes to them in order to spread happiness among them and their mothers,” he said.

Lieutenant Colonel Jameela Al Za’abi, director of Dubai Female Prison said they always providing positive environment for the children despite they are living with their mothers in detention cells.

“We are keen to provide their needs like food, clothes, medical checks and education. We always share their special occasions and to keep them happy. There is a family environment inside the prison despite it’s a detention Centre,” Lt Col Al Za’abi said.
