Dubai: Dubai Municipality’s Seismic Network recorded a minor earthquake measuring 2.8 on the Richter scale in the sea of Oman off the coast of Fujairah on Tuesday at 10.58am, which was felt by some residents in the area.
Eman Al Khateebi, Head of the Department of Geodesy and Hydrographic Survey section at the Survey Department at the municipality, said that the area experiences minor quakes from time to time but it had no effect on residents in the area.
He added that some people might have felt it and it would have felt like a heavy truck passing near them.
