Abu Dhabi: One of the crew members from Kyrgyz Republic who died in the flydubai plane crash in Russia was living in Dubai for the past five years, a friend of the deceased told Gulf News.

Zhyldyz Nasirdinova, 28, was from Naryn city in Kyrgyz Republic. She was living in Dubai Silicon Oasis sharing the flat with her close friend Darikha Abdymanap who also works with flydubai as a cabin crew.

“I can’t believe we lost her. We were living together in the same apartment and I am still waiting for her to come home. It’s tragic that she is no more,” Abdymanap told Gulf News.

She said Nasirdinova initially worked with the call centre of Emirates airlines and then moved to Emirates Holidays before becoming a cabin crew member with flydubai in 2014.

“She was a quiet girl and loved travelling. She had great plans for the future and wanted to have her own kids and start a family.”

“The day she left to duty on the flight to Roston-on-Don, she remembered her old friends and the good time she had with them. I never knew that would be my last conversation with her. The next day morning I got to know that she had died in the plane crash.”

According to Abdymanap, both of them exchanged phone numbers of their family members a month back in case of an emergency situation.

“A lot of people want to be in our place and become cabin crew but sometimes it could be risky. I believe it’s destiny.”

In a statement, the Consulate General of the Kyrgyz Republic, said that they are in touch with the family members of Nasirdinova and are trying to assist. “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyz Republic is following up on this. We were delegated to assist the family in all matters. As soon as the family arrives in Dubai, the consulate will help them,” said Meerim Askarova, a Consul in the Kyrgyz Consulate in Dubai.
