Dubai: Dubai Police found a barefoot child lost in the Naif area and reunited him with his parents after two hours.

Colonel Tarek Tahlak, deputy director of the Naif police station, said that recently, a police patrol team found a four-year-old boy walking barefoot on the street alone, not knowing where to go.

“We took him to the police station and bought him a pair of shoes and tried to communicate with him to find out his details or anything related to his family. He offered us a few details which weren’t useful,” Col Tahlak said.

All patrols in the area were provided with the details of the child and after two hours, a parent couple told a police team about their child missing from a hotel in Naif area.

“The parents had come to Dubai on visit visas and were staying in a hotel. They left the child sleeping in the hotel room when they went shopping in the area. When the child woke up, he went out of the room and the hotel searching for his parents,” Col Tahlak added.

Officers explained to the parents about the danger of leaving such a young child alone in a hotel room.

“They could have asked the hotel to provide a nanny or to keep an eye on the child to prevent such an incident, especially considering that the boy had walked away from the hotel,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Naif police station helped 5,835 people in different humanitarian cases such as losing a child or solving personal disputes in the first six months of this year.
