Abu Dhabi: Parents across the emirate of Abu Dhabi can now participate in an emirate-wide survey designed to obtain their feedback about their children’s schooling and education.

The survey is conducted annually by the emirate’s education sector regulator, the Abu Dhabi Education Council (Adec).

“This exercise allows the Adec to engage with parents and identify the strengths and weaknesses across schools. These are then used to enhance the level of education in the emirate,” said Dr Masoud Badri, head of research and planning at the Adec, in a statement sent by the Adec.

A large number of parents typically respond to the survey. For example, a total of 50,398 parents provided their feedback to the first parental satisfaction survey conducted during the 2011-2012 academic year. Last year (2013-2014), this number increased to 53,780 respondents.

Questions are composed to measure parents’ level of satisfaction in a variety of areas, including teaching methodologies, pupils’ behaviour, school leadership and facilities, provision of extracurricular activities, communication opportunities with school management, academic performance, and level of care provided for special needs pupils.
