Ramallah: The Palestinian National Authority is in the final stages of preparing files, especially those relating to child prisoners, to approach the International Court of Justice in The Hague with a solid case against Israel.

A total of 300 Palestinian children are currently in Israeli jails. "The Palestinian child prisoners are tortured the moment they are detained by the Israeli Army which starts beating them up in the vehicles in which they are arrested," said Eisa Qaraqei, the Palestinian Minister of Detainees Affairs.

"We have already sent official letters to key human rights organisations to help us with our case at the International Court of Justice," Qaraqei said addressing a press conference at the Government Media Centre in Ramallah.

Qadora Fares, who heads the Palestinian Prisoner Club, said: "The Israeli Army is acting like a gang against the Palestinian children and this has ended up as a policy for the Israeli government, and that leaves devastating effects on the Palestinian children."
