Siberian winds to help UAE temperature drop in November

November is considered a part of the second transitional period, in addition to the month of October, said an official of the National Centre of Meteorology and Seismology (NCMS).
The fall in temperatures, he said, will be due to the sun’s movement towards the south and away from the Arabian region.
The extension of Siberian surface high pressure, said the NCMS, starts affecting the country gradually, especially during the second half of this month.
This leads to a fall in temperature, sometimes becoming cooler at night over the mountains and some inland regions.
The average temperatures will range between 24 degrees Celcius and 26 degrees Celcius, and the average maximum temperature will be up to 28 degrees Celcius and 32.5 degrees Celcius. The average minimum temperature will remain between 12.2 degrees Celcius and 22.5 degrees Celcius.
Rain is also predicted in eastern areas this month.
The passage of temperate winds over the Gulf waters towards the UAE will result in an increase in relative humidity, especially early in the morning.
This humidity, said the centre’s official, leads to light to thick fog formation along the coastal areas.
The month’s average relative humidity will be 60 per cent.
The prevailing winds during the month will be south-easterly in the morning, becoming westerly and north-westerly during the day.
The average wind speed will be 11 km/h, which may accelerate for a few days.
