Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, inaugurated on Wednesday a mass wedding for 50 Emiratis in Al Remal Fort. 

The event, organised by the Marriage Fund and held under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammad, coincides with the sixth anniversary of Shaikh Mohammad's accession. 

Shaikh Mohammad congratulated the Emirati couples, and wished them a happy and stable life. He also received a memento from Maitha Al Shamsi, Minister of State and Chairwoman of the fund, on the occasion of his accession, and took commemorative pictures with the beneficiaries. 

In her opening speech, Al Shamsi extended her thanks for the financial and counsel provided to the fund by President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Shaikh Mohammad, and Their Highnesses Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes, and other governmental departments. 

She stressed the important role played by the fund in assisting youth who are planning to marry to establish Emirati families characterized by collaboration and loyalty. 

A husband taking part in the mass wedding also extended his thanks to Shaikh Khalifa for providing citizens with a dignified life. He also thanked Shaikh Mohammad for sponsoring the event, and his keen follow-up on status of youths and his financial and moral support for them. 

Present during the mass wedding were Shaikh Majid Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, Mohammad Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and other ministers and officials.
