Dubai: An inspection conducted by the Food Control Department of Dubai Municipality at foodstuff warehouses in Dubai has revealed that seven per cent of the total establishments visited during the campaign were not complying with the hygiene requirements stipulated by the civic body.

The campaign is part of the programmes undertaken by the Food Control Department to ensure safety standards of food items.

Sultan Al Tahir, head of the Product Control Section at the Food Control Department, said: "The campaign, which resulted in issuing of fines to 144 establishments, stressed the need to adhere to the hygiene requirements approved by the municipality."
