Ophthalmologist

Having recently moved to Dubai from California, she feels women in Dubai have a better sense of make-up and dressing. She says, "Women in the West are particular about their hair and nails alone whereas women in the UAE take care of their overall appearance."

"Every woman should take care of herself, particularly for herself."

In her opinion, a well-groomed woman is one who 'looks fresh' and has an 'appealing personality.'

"It is not necessarily expensive designer clothes that make a woman look good, but the way she carries herself. An old-time Indian actress, Simi Garewal, is one of the most well groomed woman I have ever seen. Even today she looks young and radiant."

Engilina is meticulous about cleaning her face before retiring to bed.

It is an extensive but rewarding skincare routine that she follows. She explains, "I cleanse with a soapless facewash.

Then, I use L'Oreal Hydrafresh toner because it does not contain alcohol. As my skin is very dry, I avoid products that contain alcohol. Then I apply a time-fighting serum, Capture Essentiel by Christian Dior, on my face and neck followed by a moisturiser.

I like to try out different brands of moisturisers. Currently, I am using a daily moisturiser and eye cream by Elizabeth Arden. I also use Ceramide Eyes at night and Millennium Eye Renewal Cream during the day.

Before going to bed, I clean my face and neck with Daily Facials, by Oil Of Olay followed by the toner, moisturiser, the eye cream and, most importantly, my time-fighting serum. Ever since I have started using Daily Facials I have not felt the need to go to a salon for a facial!"

Engilina also uses an Apricot scrub by St. Ives, twice a week and applies a facial mask once in a while.

While Engilina thinks she doesn't have any interesting feature in particular, her family and friends think otherwise.

"My family and friends believe that I have nice eyes and a nice smile. I think Aishwarya Rai has very beautiful eyes. They are expressive, innocent and have immense depth in them."

Engilina loves spending time over eye make-up, especially when she is going for a social do. Eyeshadow, eyeliner, mascara and Shahnaz Hussain's kajal, are a must with her.

Engilina alternates between Revlon and L'Oreal eyeliner and water-proof mascara. As for eyeshadows and lipliners, she chooses from L'Oreal, Max Factor, Estee Lauder and Marks and Spencer.

When it comes to brands, Engilina has no particular favourites, except for Lakme. She says, "They have the best range of lipstick shades for the Asian skin tone. I also try Estee Lauder, Revlon and Christian Dior."

She spends about Dh400-500 every month on cosmetics but quickly adds, "I don't buy things every month because there are certain things, which last you more than a month."

The doctor's prescription to healthy skin and true beauty is a well-balanced diet, regular exercise and adequate consumption of water.
