Sharjah: The restoration of electricity was shortlived for residents in the industrial areas, as the power outage occurred again the very next day.

The power outage took place at around midday and wreaked havoc for residents who said they were frustrated at the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (Sewa) who failed to provide them with proper service.

"Who said it was restored? It was only for one day and now the power cut started again in my office. I think this is going to be a very serious problem," said an upset resident.

"At 12pm the electricity went off again. I do not think it is going to be rectified soon. I think other areas are affected too, and the nightmare has started. I am planning to move, but that too will be difficult as the elevator isn't working," said Roman Khan, a resident of Industrial Area 13.

"After a break of two days, the routine power breaks restarted today from 12 noon in Industrial Area 3, but for how long? Even Sewa has no idea," said Aneesh Babu K.

"I felt little relief after the power was restored yesterday ... but it was of no use because it went off again at 1pm in Al Muweilah," said Jasna.
