Abu Dhabi: A total of 14,604 people have donated through SMS to the Zakat Fund since the launch of the SMS service in 2012 and up to May this year.
Abdullah Al Muhairi, Secretary-General of the Zakat Fund, said that donors can specify the kind of zakat they want to pay for. To pay zakat, type (Z) in the text body, to pay Sadaqa, type (S) in the text body, to pay Zakat Al Fitr, type (F) in the text body, to give a donation, type (T) in the text body.
Al Muhairi said that donors can send an SMS to 8010 to donate Dh10, 8050 to donate Dh50, 8100 to donate Dh100, and 8200 to donate Dh200.
