Abu Dhabi: An office of Indian Centre for Cultural Relations (ICCR) will be opened at the Indian embassy in Abu Dhabi by the end of this month, India's ambassador-designate told Gulf News. It is part of the efforts to strengthen the cultural relations with the Gulf countries, M.K. Lokesh said.

It will be the first office of ICCR in the Gulf region, he said.

Anuja Chakravarty of ICCR will take charge as the head of the office by the end of this month, the ambassador-designate said.

The office will facilitate cultural exchange programmes, scholarships for Gulf nationals and various cultural activities, he said.
