Abu Dhabi: The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City has embarked on a base mapping project with the aim of updating the spatial database of Abu Dhabi.
The project likewise aims to reactivate the role of base maps in securing the flow of essential information that supports sound and practical decision-making in all aspects of development and infrastructure projects across the nation's capital.
The move comes in the context of an integrated plan that aims at upgrading municipal services through improving quality, removing inconsistency and overlapping, applying the best global practices, and meeting the expectations of customers including individuals, contractors and strategic partners, and the whole community.
Such a plan is set to be implemented through the customer-centered policy of the municipality that seeks to continue with the improved services rendered to them.
The project is being carried out in conjunction with the newly introduced internal mechanism that aims to ensure and sustain the continuous updating of Abu Dhabi's base map to cover daily transactions.
