Special housing if needed

Special places have been allocated to house residents of the areas near the coast if need be in case of any emergency, the Chief of Dubai Police said.

Dubai: Special places have been allocated to house residents of the areas near the coast if need be in case of any emergency, the Chief of Dubai Police said.

Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Chief of Dubai Police and Chairman of the Crisis and Disasters Management Committee, pointed out that those places are prepared to house 500 people and the number can be doubled.

He said field teams that have been formed to have also increased preparedness in the coastal areas near Oman borders. The crisis and disasters management team has prepared a plan to evacuate residents of buildings near coasts that might get affected by the cyclone.

Colonel Pilot Anas Al Matroushi, Deputy Director of the operations room for transfer and rescue affairs and leader of the field team in Hatta, said teams continued its preparations to face any emergency.
