Dubai: The UAE is participating in an international study through the Ministry of Education entitled as the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA 2009) — a worldwide test of 15-year-old schoolchildren's educational performance.
The UAE will be one of 70 countries participating in the study.
The assessment is a key measure of how far students approaching the end of compulsory education have acquired knowledge and skills essential for their full participation in society.
About 179 government schools from all around the UAE will take part in the test.
The test and assessment department in the Ministry of Education will coordinate with the Cooperation and Economic Development Organisation about the followed procedures, the required student's data, and the choice of schools through an electronic programme.
