Cass Business School Dubai will run public short courses for three months, said programme director Roy Batchelor last week.

Batchelor, director of the Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA) at Cass Dubai, was addressing Cass graduates and affiliates at an alumni gathering. He said courses in leadership management, Islamic finance, corporate finance, corporate strategy and mergers and acquisitions will run starting March as four-day weekend elective courses.

"In a changing world, maintaining quality requires continuous learning," he said. "[The courses] will be a culmination of our MBA students' courses and the most relevant and fun part of our degree."

Building links

Alderman Nick Anstee, Lord Mayor of the City of London and Chancellor of City University London and its Cass Business School, said: "As we face continuing uncertainty over the economic recovery, building links between trade and education is more important than ever."

Anstee assured Cass Dubai's 500-strong alumni and student body that the UK's banking sector, insurance, risk management and energy markets as well as the accounting and consultancy sector remain busy, efficient and competitive.

Working in the UK

Anstee also visited students at Zayed University's (ZU) Abu Dhabi campus. "The UK remains an excellent place to work in banking and finance," he said. "I believe experience gained in London... will be especially valuable to bring to your career in Abu Dhabi or wherever life takes you."
