Dubai: Expatriate parents worrying over which school to enrol their children do not have to look hard any longer as a new UAE website was launched on Saturday to cater to their needs.

The site, called WhichSchoolAdvisor.com, is aimed primarily at expatriate parents who are looking to find out specific details about particular schools as well as general advice on school curricula, fees, waiting lists and other useful information.

“Whether it’s finding out the best, most affordable nursery that is closest to your apartment or working out the pros and cons of a particular curriculum parents face a bewildering array of choices,” says James Mullan, co-founder of WhichSchoolAdvisor.com.

“We have brought our combined expertise as web developers, educationalists, communications professionals and parents to create a site that addresses the key issues faced by all parents.”

WhichSchoolAdvisor.com includes several hundred “carefully researched and individually written” reviews of schools and nurseries throughout the Emirates. All of the major curricula — Indian, Arab expatriate, British and American — are covered in these reviews.

The site also features a series of guides, a ‘frequently asked questions’ section, details on school waiting lists, a calendar that is both academic and family- focused and a news section. Parents will be encouraged to interact with the site via forums and social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter.

An important and novel feature of the site is an area called ‘Teacher Tributes’ where individuals can submit brief videos praising teachers who have been inspirational to them.

The videos will be available to view on the site and the WSA team will be loading additional submissions.
