Sharjah: Police have arrested two Bangladeshi men caught red-handed after they broke into a shop in Sharjah.

A police official said the incident took place on Jamal Abdul Nasser Street after they had received complaints that people were breaking into the shops.

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) at Sharjah Police formed a team to find the suspects. But they were caught when a police car patrolling Jamal Abdul Nasser Street spotted a medical and electronic shop with its doors open, unlit, and with two men walking inside.

The officers discovered the suspects with tools.

They confessed to stealing Dh2,250 from various shops, Dh10,500 from a car shop and Dh1,000 and 400 mobile recharge cards from a supermarket.

The case has been referred to Sharjah Public Prosecution.
