Abu Dhabi: A Pakistani gang has been arrested by Pakistani authorities for forging UAE visas, reported Oloom Al Dar on Abu Dhabi TV.

The gang made hundreds of thousands of dirhams in profit by convincing 50 people in Pakistan that they can acquire a visa to the UAE for a price of Dh10,000. The fake visas were issued under bogus sponsors.

Upon supplying the victim with the forged visas, the gang convinced them to refrain from travelling because their ‘company' had arranged a flight for its clients once a quorum was met.

"We were just trying to acquire as much profit as possible," a gang member said.

Unemployed

Abdullah Shah, a victim of the visa scandal, said the gang approached him with documents stating that he can acquire a UAE visa for Dh10,000.

"I am unemployed and my family is poor. I sold all my possessions and even took a loan to afford the employment visa," he said.

"I learned later that the whole thing was a scandal, and that the gang has stolen my passport and tampered with it."
