Dubai: A Bangladeshi housewife faces five years in jail after she was charged with exploiting four girls sexually and threatening to expose their nude pictures if they rejected clients.

The Dubai Court of First Instance on Monday found the 26-year-old housewife, R.A., guilty of human trafficking by forcing the girls into prostitution, beating them and threatening to expose their nude pictures.

"No! No, I am not guilty… I didn't bring those four girls here," said the tearful Bangladeshi when she defended herself in court earlier.

Presiding Judge Hamad Abdul Latif Abdul Jawad said the accused will be deported after serving her sentence.

Prosecutors accused R.A. of human trafficking when she flew in, along other suspects (who are being prosecuted before a different court), their four compatriot girls and forced them into sex trade.

Prosecution records said two of the trafficked girls escaped from the villa, where they were being forced to have sex with men for money, and headed to the nearest police station.

"The girls seemed brutally beaten… they didn't speak or walk properly. They accused R.A. and two other men of coercing them to have sex with strange men," testified an Emirati anti-human trafficking first sergeant.

Prosecutors said R.A. exploited the girls' weakness and tricked them to come here after promising them non-existent jobs.

The housewife locked the girls up and took their nude pictures with which she blackmailed them and forced them to have sex with strangers.

Prosecutors said the girls led police to the villa. The girls identified the suspects in the police line up, after their arrest. Yesterday's judgment is still subject to appeal within 15 days.
