Dubai: A games operator yesterday denied the charge of luring a minor to the children's entertainment area and then dragging him into a hall and raping him.

Prosecutors said the 25-year-old Filipino games operator tempted the 10-year-old schoolboy to the games area before he dragged him into a hall, undressed and raped him.

"No sir I did not do that … I am not guilty," said 25-year-old F.S. when he defended himself before the Dubai Court of First Instance.

Prosecutors charged F.S. with having sex with the minor against his will and under duress.

Prosecution records said the boy broke loose from the suspect, who was said to have used a cream when he reportedly raped the boy.

Senior Chief Prosecutor Yousuf Foulaz, head of Deira Prosecution, asked the court to implement the capital punishment against the defendant.

Mother informed

The boy told prosecutors that he was with his cousins and brother in a mall in Mirdif when the incident happened around 7pm.

"The suspect stopped me and offered me three coupons for games … I refused to take them. Then he claimed that he would make me win gifts if I participated in the games. Afterwards I went to play bowling with my cousins. The defendant came up to me, he pulled me to another hall where he undressed and raped me. He did that to me three times on different occasions. The third time I informed my mother," the boy said.

The boy's father testified that he talked with the entertainment area's manager about the incident. Then he reported the matter to the police. The father said: "My son said he did not inform me about what happened because he was afraid of the suspect."

The manager alleged that F.S. confessed to raping the boy so that he would not be beaten by the police.

The forensic report confirmed that the boy had been subject to sexual assault.

The trial continues.
