Abu Dhabi

After the school year started and families returned from their vacations, the traffic situation on the roads got much worse. Getting out of the Musaffah Industrial Area or the residential areas of Mohammad Bin Zayed City and Shabia has become tough. Driving from these areas towards the downtown areas in Abu Dhabi is becoming so hard and difficult, especially in the morning rush hours between 7 and 9am.

Long queues of vehicles are seen all along the roads exiting the area. There are only two routes, one leads to Maqta Bridge and the other to Musaffah Bridge, and both are blocked with traffic during that time.

It is so stressful and uncomfortable to spend almost 30 minutes just to cross a distance of one kilometre. Both the bridges consist of only two lanes while the roads that lead to them have three or four lanes. This causes a bottleneck. Many a times drivers lose their concentration and it leads to accidents.

We request the auhorites concerned to find a permanent solution to this crisis. The areas I mentioned are not small communities. They’re booming and still expanding and the population is increasing rapidly in those areas aside from the schools that have been transferred here from main Abu Dhabi city.

That increases the number of vehicles moving in and out of the area and therefore causes traffic congestion.

We are all confident that the authorities will look into this matter to solve the issue in the nearest possible future.
