“Any advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic,” quotes Arthur. C. Clarke. This proved true at Delhi Private School in Sharjah, when students from schools all over the UAE came together to witness a debut event — the IT-FEST-exebIT, 2013 at the campus.

They demonstrated that not even a single piece of hazardous waste of computer component, right from the keyboard keys to the monitors and CPU, litters the campus. Instead, it gives a new useful life in an altered form like aquariums, robots or flower pots.

The main events were web designing, power-point, poster making and a quiz competition hosted by Quiz Dubai. The day’s Chief Guest, Mr Bobby Gupta, the Managing Partner and Vice President of Messrs Mahindra Satyam now piloting the IT giant in Australia and New Zealand, claimed that these future IT children can bring out wonders to the latest technology.

An exhibition of recycled e-waste to teach the students the importance of following the 3R’s – Reduce, Reuse and Recycle added colour to the festival. This was a forum for the school students in the UAE to articulate the creativity of the cybernetic age and will be celebrated as a rendezvous of the rarest of the rare views, dreams and ideas.

DPS Dubai bagged the overall Rolling Trophy. Principal of the host school, Mrs Vandana Marwaha and the Pro-Vice Chairman, Mr Dinesh Kothari felicitated the winners.
